My name is Alex Peters. I am 22 years old and live in Philadelphia, PA. I currently play for the mixed club team Amp.
I am if you buy some prints.
I shoot with a Canon 1D (4 megapixels) and a Canon 300mm f/2.8 lens. Since everyone asks anyway, the package roughly cost $4,000.
Simply click on an image thumbnail (so the large image comes up) and click the "Buy Print" button in the upper right hand corner. You can then move straight to your shopping cart, or continue browsing for more images.
This box shows how your image will be cropped for the print size you have selected. Almost all the images on this website have a 2:3 ratio (they come out of the camera that way), so if you were to order a 4x6 or an 8x12, you would not have a red box, because these prints also have a 2:3 ratio and are not being cropped at all. However, if you were to order an 8x10, this has a more square 4x5 ratio, and will need to be cropped. The default crop is right in the middle, however the crop is fully adjustable, so you can make sure that you don't cut out anything important before ordering. You may also choose "no crop" which will shrink the image a little bit so that it fits on the paper size you are ordering without cutting anything out.
These are your choices of paper finish for your prints. Gloss, as the name implies, is a shiny finish and one you are probably familiar with as it is generally the default finish for prints from one-hour photo type places, you probably have many glossy prints in your photo albums. Gloss prints can seem to be more saturated than Matte, but suffer from glare when viewed in certain lighting. Matte is a "flat" finish that should look even in most lights, and has the added benefit of resisting fingerprints somewhat. Luster is very nice hybrid of Gloss and Matte, here is an example of Lustre vs Gloss. Most people seem to choose gloss, I personally prefer Lustre.

By downloading a file directly from the website you are agreeing to a personal use lisence. You can show it to team mates and friends, put it on your website, use it in an art project, and yes, print it for yourself. What you can't do is resell it, or use it commercially. As the photographer I retain all rights to the image.
I can sell/release images for various commercial use, however, there are a number of issues to consider. First is price, this can vary greatly depending on image size, usage, and distribution. For example, use in a nationally distributed magazine ad will be more expensive then a small file on a low traffic web page. Second is permissions. Many of the images on this website are from UPA events, or other events that control the distibution of their media. I may not be able to give you these images without their permission, or in giving permission, they might require a cut of the sale. Third is model releases, there aren't any. I can sell you images, but you, as the publisher, are liable for the use of the images, and must determine if your intended use requires a model release, and obtain them if necessary. For further inquiry, please email me at the adress listed below.
While I may be shooting digital, that doesn't mean it was "free" for me to take a shot, equipment, travel, processing, time and effort all add up. The reason it costs more for a full size file than, say, an 8x10 print, is because once you buy a file you can print as much as you want from it, so your choice is either to buy a print for $10-20 if you only want one, or a digital file for $30 if you feel you will be printing several copies. However, it should also be noted that the professional printers I use will use high quality paper, and probably do a better job than your home printer, or wal-mart.
My full size file was only 2 megapixels, what gives?
The camera I use has a maximum of 4 megapixels, and while I always shoot at the largest size, I often crop images for better composition which can result in files as small as 2 megapixels (I try not to crop lower than that). If you buy a full size file and it is smaller than 3 megapixels please contact me via the email adress below, and I may be able to compensate you with an additional file for free, a print at-cost, or some other bonus of my choosing. This compensation will occur soley at my discretion, and is in no way guaranteed.
Can I hire you to come to our event?
Possibly, but it won't be cheap, with travel and hotel expenses to consider.
